Chris Golembiewski

Career
Christopher Golembiewski is the Senior Director and Strategist within Fixed Income for Roberts & Ryan Investments. Mr. Golembiewski has spent most of his Finance career focusing on the research and trading of special situations in diverse asset classes with exposure around the world.

Following the completion of the Ph.D. program at IESE Business School, he joined Peregrine Securities in Honk Kong to focus on the Asian Convertible Bond Market. His work included the development of a capital structure arbitrage model which more efficiently hedges the credit and liquidity risk in this space. Mr. Golembiewski returned to the United States and joined Susquehanna Partners to work on the convertible bond desk focusing on the US and European market.

In early 2000, Mr. Golembiewski moved Commerzbank with a mandate to focus on the distressed side of the convertible market. The desk had a successful track record during his tenure at the firm.

During the inception of the credit derivative market, Mr. Golembiewski was appointed Portfolio Manager for the credit arbitrage strategy at Citigroup’s internal hedge fund, Tribeca Global Management. This desk focused on relative value, directional, and curve trades utilizing the CDS product.

Post the financial crisis, Mr. Golembiewski joined Wells Capital as the head of bond trading for an actively managed bond fund. The fund utilized in depth company specific research to generate alpha through security and sector allocation versus the index. After leaving Wells, Mr. Golembiewski worked in an ETF advisory role in which he attempted to introduce a hybrid ETF product to the market.
