Gerald O’Donnell is a Senior Director of Operations and Head of Municipal Securities for Roberts & Ryan Investments. Mr. O’Donnell’s 20-year financial services career has been proximate to the “point-of-execution.” Following military service, he began his financial services career in equities, as a market-maker and sales trader at Knight Securities and Instinet. In 2006, he moved to structured products, and became an interdealer broker in asset-backed credit derivatives at Creditex, and a structured product data salesman at GFI. Later, he traded bonds as an agency bond broker. His career has tracked along with the electronification wave across asset classes and traded products, and he has traded by “voice,” electronically, and a hybrid of both.
Mr. O’Donnell’s most notable global project has been as an international consultant to the first and only electronic liquidity pool for US listed securities, in the US trading ecosystem, outside of normal US market hours -The Blue Ocean. The product focus has been on ETFs with a geographic focus in Asia.
Mr. O’Donnell holds a NASD Series 24, 53, 7, 57, and 63 licenses.
Education and Service
Gerald O’Donnell is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a BS in Mathematical Economics. He is a former US Army Captain in the Army’s Military Police Corps with service primarily with US Army Europe in Germany.
