Career
Thomas F. O’Neill is Senior Managing Director of Capital Markets at Roberts & Ryan, with over 45 years of financial service experience.
Mr. O’Neill is Vice Chairman at Incapital, advising the firm’s capital markets group and financial institutions group on all aspects of their businesses. He is the well-known co-founder of investment banking and brokerage firm Sandler O’Neill & Partners, where he spent 22 years. Most recently, he was the co-chief executive officer of The Kimberlite Group, which he co-founded in 2013.
Mr. O’Neill currently serves on the board of Bank Financial, a bank holding company based in Chicago.
Mr. O’Neill holds SIE, FINRA Series 1, 24, 53, and 63 licenses.
Education and Service
Thomas O’Neill is a graduate of New York University and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. O’Neill is a second-generation Irish American with family roots in counties Armagh (his father’s side) and Tipperary (his mother’s). He vividly recalls stories of his maternal grandfather’s decision to emigrate after standing up to the English lord whose estate he maintained in New Inn, Tipperary.
Mr. O’Neill still takes pride in what he regards as his grandfather’s “ability to overcome great challenges to be here.”
He and his wife, Carol, have three daughters, Meredith, Melanie, and Heather.
