In this edition, Roberts & Ryan’s Sang Nguyen highlights security from an enterprise computing context and identifies two fundamental issues. The first whether we should trust anyone (or anything) on the inside of our networks. The second is that the so-called perimeter has essentially disappeared with cloud computing and remote work. These challenges have required us to reconsider how we secure our networks. This brings us to the topic of Zero Trust, an evolving cybersecurity paradigm that moves defenses from static, network-based perimeters to focus on users, assets, and resources.
