Career
Doug McCurdy is focused on Capital Markets at Roberts & Ryan, Inc. and has over 25 years of leadership experience in capital markets, entrepreneurial startups, and the U.S. Navy. He brings a wealth of expertise with particular strengths in transformational leadership, strategic advisory, revenue growth, operations management, technology roadmapping, debt & equity capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, restructuring, and long-term trusted relationships. With an abundance of international experience, he has an intuitive understanding of various markets throughout the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Prior to joining Roberts & Ryan, Mr. McCurdy served four years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at REZI, an innovative minority-owned PropTech startup. Previously, he served six years as Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer at Torrential, a pioneering mobile video digital media startup, where he led the company’s high growth, Series A capital raise, and successful M&A sale. Before that, he served seven years as President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer at BBE, the first online video digital media startup, where he led the company’s high growth, Series A capital raise, and successful M&A sale. Prior to that, he served ten years as Principal, Investment Banking, at Banc of America Securities, where he advised valuable CEO/CFO client relationships, and originated creative debt, equity, M&A, and restructuring transactions in several sectors, including Diversified Industries, Technology, Healthcare, and Gaming.
Mr. McCurdy holds the SIE and FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
Education and Service
Douglas McCurdy served six years as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. His first tour was as Division Officer and Watch Officer on the USS Kinkaid, a Spruance class destroyer, deployed throughout the Pacific Ocean, Philippine Sea, South China Sea, Indian Ocean, and Persian Gulf. His second tour was as Course Director & Instructor at Fleet Combat Training Center Pacific, where he was also selected as an Aide to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, during a historic NATO military Chiefs of Defense meeting.
Doug earned an MBA in Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
