Ed D’Alessandro, CEO of Roberts & Ryan will be participating in a fireside chat with Veteran supporters in Treasury and Veteran-owned Broker dealers about the challenges Veterans face, the value they bring to the civilian workforce, and ways to partner with Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOB) to uplift the Veteran community.
Corporations have made tremendous strides in the last several years making better use of Diversity-owned broker dealers. However, several Treasury leaders have highlighted the risk of “checking the box” and simply using one Black-, Female-, Hispanic-, and Vet-owned firm in their transactions without really thinking about the communities they are supporting and the unique roles each play. In recognition of the Marine Corps’ Birthday (Nov 10th) and Veterans Day (Nov 11th), we are bringing together leaders from three of the best-known Veteran owned firms to discuss topics including:
- What does the landscape of veteran-owned firms look like and how is it changing?
- How vet owned firms work together and the unique bond of mutual support they have built.
- The ways beyond transactional work engaging with vet-owned firms can help corporates (identifying veterans staffing candidates who are pre-trained, participating in veteran-specific community events, access to leading military leaders to speak about geopolitical events, etc.)
- Hearing first-hand accounts from fellow corporate Treasurers on why and how they work with vet-owned firms.
