A seven-day celebration honoring the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps, the 34th annual Fleet Week in NYC took place from May 25, 2022 to May 31, 2022.
Fleet Week’s flotilla of ships on the Hudson River, military demonstrations and string of parties marks the beginning of summer in New York City.
Roberts & Ryan was honored to host a team lunch at the Union League Club. We were thrilled to include including Captain Thurraya Kent, leading the Northeast Area.
Andy Lennon, Executive Director, U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps had this to say:
“While I knew Roberts Ryan is a strong business, I had no idea that you have a specific focus on military and young adults. “Changing lives of young adults” is precisely what Sea Cadets does. I have so many stories that make me tear up.
One young lady from the midwest had two parents that were on drugs and her two brothers were in jail. Sea Cadets was the only “normal” thing in her life. Now she’s an EMT and Firefighter holding down a solid job and giving back to the community.
Another young lady I met was so painfully shy that when she encountered an adult she would cry and (her words exactly) “snot would come pouring out of my nose.” Now she’s a squared away high school student with enough self-confidence to tell me that story!“
