We had the opportunity to host an investor call with members of the Omega Healthcare Investors senior management team, who gave us a tremendous overview of their business.

Omega is a REIT that provides financing and capital solutions to skilled nursing facility (SNF) and assisted living facility (ALF) operators across the U.S. and the U.K. They have the network and the scale to execute on opportunities most others cannot. With 85 operators, nearly 1K properties, 90K+ beds, and a solid balance sheet, they can get things done.
Example: They recently bought a portfolio of 45 care facilities in the U.K., a transaction that required six different operators to help execute. Of course, it didn’t hurt that Omega had the ability to buy the entire portfolio, and quickly. Made things very appealing for the seller.
Omega’s Key Points:
- Growth: OHI currently owns about 5% of the SNF market – lots of opportunity in this fragmented market.
- Security & Safety: Demographics, Supply & Demand, and Barriers to Entry are all favorable.
- YIELD: Their current yield is 7%+. If you like dividends, take a look! The company has never cut their dividend and has always paid it.
